Job Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and engaging individuals to join our team as Field Trip Guides (May-June) and Summer Camp Leaders (July-August). This dynamic role is perfect for individuals who love working with children, have strong public speaking skills, and have a passion for science and agriculture.

Key Responsibilities

May - June (Part-Time) | Field Trip Guide

  • Lead interactive and educational field trips for school groups (K-Grade 6) through Granary Road’s exhibits and learning stations.

  • Deliver engaging presentations on topics related to science, nature, and agriculture.

  • Supervise and manage groups of students while ensuring a safe and fun learning environment.

  • Assist with hands-on activities, games, and experiments.

  • Work collaboratively with other guides and staff to provide an exceptional experience for visitors.

July - August (Full-Time) | Summer Camp Leader

  • Lead and supervise campers (ages 5-12) through daily activities, including science experiments, nature exploration, and agricultural learning.

  • Create a fun and inclusive environment where kids feel encouraged to participate.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by following Granary Road’s policies and procedures.

  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging programming.

  • Interact with parents and guardians, providing updates on camper experiences.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups and engaging audiences of all ages.

  • Passion for science, nature, and agriculture.

  • Experience working with children (e.g., coaching, tutoring, summer camps, etc.).

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Reliable, energetic, and a strong team player.

  • Current First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Preference for candidates working toward a degree in Education, Science, Environmental Studies, Agriculture, or a related field.

Job Details & Compensation

  • Part-Time (May-June): 2-4 days per week, flexible hours.

  • Full-Time (July-August): Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience.

​
