Join us for exclusive Art Classes for adults, led by internationally renowned Fine Artist, Debra Rowland BA (Hons).
If you love to sketch, would enjoy learning the fundamentals of drawing and painting, or are a competent painter wanting to take your work to the next level, or maybe a pure beginner looking for a friendly, fun and relaxed environment to start your artistic journey, these classes are for you!
Classes will begin September 4, 2024 for 3 hours a week giving you the chance to hone your talent, learn new media and techniques to create a body of artwork to showcase at an end-of-year show.
Set in Granary Road's beautiful Mezzanine space, these fine art classes offer breathtaking views of the stunning Pine Creek Valley, providing the perfect inspirational backdrop for your creativity to flourish.

About the Artist: Debra Rowland
Debra Rowland is a renowned colourist and impressionistic artist, best known for her vibrant wildlife and pet portraiture oil paintings. Originally from Surrey, England, and raised in North Wales, Debra now resides in the foothills of Calgary.
Her artistic journey began early, inspired by her carpenter father and seamstress mother. Debra studied Art, Design, and Illustration at Glyndwr University in North Wales, earning a BA (Hons) Degree in Illustration. She developed a passion for figurative and still life drawing and went on to teach as a Life Drawing Professor and art instructor.
Living in Queensland, Australia, influenced her use of vivid colours, which she continues to explore in her work inspired by Canadian wildlife and landscapes. Debra’s art has been showcased in galleries across Canada, the UK, Ireland, and Australia, and she is frequently commissioned for wildlife and pet portraits.

Class Details
As a seasoned professional Artist, Debra will guide you through drawing techniques, colour theory, creating form and interesting compositions, ultimately moving along to using your choice of materials to create rewarding pieces of artwork.
You will work at your individual pace and level, from the reference of your choice and receive an ongoing learning experience which includes personal artistic development. Each class is limited to 10-12 students to ensure guidance is given at all stages to create an understanding of methods, mediums and approaches throughout. Table easels will be provided, and a list of suggested art materials to purchase will be given to each student upon payment.
When: Starting September 4, 2024 on Wednesdays & Thursdays
Time: 9am - 12pm or 12.30pm - 3.30pm
Cost: $150 per month
