Position Details: Seasonal Position from May to mid-October.
Part-time and Full-time positions available.

Granary Road is an outdoor interpretive facility designed to introduce guests of all ages to the world of agriculture. Guest Services staff work with school field trips, groups, and the public to inspire a love of agriculture and science through interactive education. As a member of the Granary Road team, Farm Hand staff are expected to be friendly, outgoing, engaging, and ensure that guests receive a high-quality educational experience.
Farm Hand Position Duties include:

Daily care of a variety of farm animals including chickens, goats, rabbits, a donkey, alpaca, peacocks and more.

Ensuring that the animal shelters are cleaned every day and new bedding is put out.

Ensuring that the animals have clean drinking water at all times.

Feeding a variety of different animals, each of which have different diets.

Guiding interactions between animals and guests, making sure that guests know and follow the rules around the animals. General maintenance and cleaning of the barns and surrounding area.

Checking the animal enclosures to make sure that the fences and gates are secure.

Engaging in conversations with guests and answering questions about the animals.
Position Requirements:

Proactive, responsible and can work with minimum supervision.

Must be friendly, cooperative and enjoy working with the public.

Experience with the care and handling of farm animals.

Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather.

Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs and to handle tools such as a shovel, rake, and wheelbarrow.

Due to Granary Road’s location outside of city limits, your own reliable transportation is required.
